THE ANANDA SOCIETY

Dharm Dass, Vice President of Ananda SocietyIn April 2002 we registered Ananda as an NGO under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The organisation is made up of 21 members from Naggar, Chajogi, Rumsu and Hallan, 13 of whom make up the general body, the remaining 7 being the managing committee.

Every year we conduct two general body meetings and several managing committee meetings, during which we discuss proposed projects and distribution of funds.

In 2003 we were given our FCRA (foreign contribution regulation act) registration by the ministry of home affairs, allowing us to receive donations from outside India. The organisation is currently being supported by several private donors, allowing us to carry out our projects on a small-scale. For larger scale projects we are working on proposals to submit to a number of different funding agencies.
